Famous for their romantic and tranquil setting, the Grade II* gardens radiate from the Fountain Court, framed by clipped topiary, grottoes, stone statues, and octagonal pools.
The gilded orangery, sheltering roses, begonias, and exotics beneath a glass roof, leads out to the terraces and sweeping valley views. The lower terrace reveals a 17th-century summerhouse, spring-fed ponds, and the beginnings of the wild garden. Beyond is the Arboretum and woodland walks unfold with magnolias, dawn redwoods, tulip trees, and dogwoods.
